Preparation Method:
Ethyl 2-methyllimidazo [1,2-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxylate is prepared as follows:

2. Then 2-methyl imidazole is reacted with ethyl cyanate to generate 2-methyl imidazole -1-ethyl acetate.
